News from Circuit and District Synod
- As from 1st September 2006 the Finchley and Hendon
Circuit will no longer exist, instead we will be part of
the newly named Barnet and Queensbury Circuit.
- There will be an inaugural and celebratory event on
the 10th September 2006. (Robert Alderman and Jane
Thomson from EFM will be involved in the
arrangements for this).
- The Rev. Colin Smith will be the Superintendent of
the new B&Q Circuit. Agreed by a unanimous
vote.
- As from 1st September 2006, the London North-West
District, of which we are part, will no longer exist and
we will become part of the new London District.
- The new London District will be launched on the 2nd
September 2006, with an all day celebration at
Central Hall, Westminster.
- The proposal to create a Local Ecumenical
Partnership for the Methodist and United Reformed
Churches in Mill Hill and to apply for a Deacon to
serve as Community Worker as well as having
pastoral care of the Methodist members was greeted
with enthusiasm. Work on setting this in motion will
be continuing.
- Rev. Beatrice Quaye and Mrs Charlotte Kwarteng
(Circuit Steward) will be District Representatives to
Conference next June in Edinburgh.
